Richard Allen (31 August 1957 – 12 June 2013; age 55) was an actor who appeared as Kentor in the Star Trek: The Next Generation third season episode "The Ensigns of Command", and the Tamarian first officer in the fifth season episode "Darmok". For his appearance in "Darmok", Allen filmed all of his scenes on 25 July 1991 on Paramount Stage 9 along with Paul Winfield, Norman Hunte, and Teri Noel.

Allen had summed up his appearances as being "in some of the most memorable episodes in the series history...or so the Trekkies tell me. You haven't lived until you go through 4 hours of latex make-up to look like a "pig face boy" and act with the late great Paul Winfield in 95 degree heat! Magic!" [1]^(X)

Allen had a few television guest spots in the late '80s and early '90s. He also had small roles in a number of movies, as well as doing some voice work later on.
