A resonance tissue scan is a medical procedure that can be performed with a special medical device, usually found in sickbay aboard Federation starships.
When it seemed Geordi La Forge had contracted an infection of his neural inputs due to tampering by solanagen-based lifeforms, Doctor Beverly Crusher ran a resonance tissue scan to look for signs of additional infection. (TNG: "Schisms")
