A resonance burst is a type of energetic discharge that can be produced by a starship's navigational deflector or warp field.

In the year 2293, the crew of the Federation starship USS Enterprise-B emitted a resonance burst from the ship's main deflector to break free from the gravimetric distortions of an energy ribbon. The function required the ship's deflector relays manually modified, resulting in an effect similar to that of an anti-matter discharge. The resonance burst took the form of a forced energy beam.
