Real estate was a term used in the 20th and 21st centuries that was used for private property.
In 2374, prior to Operation Return, Benjamin Sisko referred to Deep Space 9 as 'the most important piece of real estate in the Alpha Quadrant' in an attempt to convince the admirals to give permission for him to lead an offensive.
