The Rakhari were a humanoid species native to the planet Rakhar in the Gamma Quadrant.
Rakhari practiced polygamous marriage; Croden had at least two wives and one daughter. Rakhari also had mythical tales about Changelings, although most consider them make-believe.
Although Croden tells Odo in "Vortex" that Changelings used to live on Rakhar centuries ago until they were persecuted and driven off the planet, his story turned out to be a lie to get Odo's attention.
Exarch was a high-level rank in Rakhari society and capital punishment was practiced as of the 2360s, when Croden's entire family was put to death since he spoke out against the repressive policies of the government. After Alpha Quadrant vessels began emerging from the Bajoran wormhole in 2369, the Rakhari were reluctant to have contact with any species from there, but maintained trade contacts with other off-world traders.
