Referenced in the final revised draft script of TOS: "The Conscience of the King", R. Wiegand was a Federation colonist who lived on Tarsus IV during the famine of 2246. In the script, Wiegand was named as one of nine surviving witnesses of the 4,000 colonists murdered by order of the colony's Governor Kodos. Wiegand was later murdered by Kodos' daughter, Lenore Karidian, to prevent the implication of her father in the murders.
