Pinewood Toronto Studios is the filming location for the Star Trek series Star Trek: Discovery, located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  Set construction was originally scheduled for July 2016 with filming taking place between September 2016 and March 2017 ; however, this later became January 2017 to September 2017.  The production uses eight of the facility's stages. 
The facility was known as Filmport until June 2009, when the studio signed a comprehensive sales and marketing agreement with the British company The Pinewood Studios Group. It consists of twelve sound stages, a jumbo stage, and three back lots. 
The facility previously housed the sets for productions such as the comedy It's A Boy Girl Thing (2006, with Robert Joy), the reality tv show Battle of the Blades (2009-2013), the fantasy series The Listener (2009-2014), the science fiction remake The Thing (2011), the science fiction film Prometheus (2012), the drama Cosmopolis (2012), the science fiction remake Total Recall (2012, with John Cho), the comedy The Best Man Holiday (2013), the horror film Mama (2013), the superhero sequel Kick-Ass 2 (2013), the horror film remake Carrie (2013), the science fiction film Pacific Rim (2013, with Idris Elba, Ron Perlman, Clifton Collins, Jr., and Brad William Henke), the science fiction film Debug (2014), the science fiction remake RoboCop (2014), the horror film Wolves (2014, with Stephen McHattie and John Pyper-Ferguson), the fantasy comedy Pixels (2015), the horror film Poltergeist (2015), the television series Beauty and the Beast (2012-2016), and the Academy Award winning drama Spotlight (2015).
More recent projects include the comic adaptation Suicide Squad (2016), the horror series The Strain (2014-2016, with Robin Atkin Downes), the fantasy series Good Witch (2015-2017), the science fiction series Orphan Black (2013-2017), the action sequel xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017), and the horror remake It (2017).
