Pinball is a Human game, invented in 1869 by Montegue Redgrave, with the objective of scoring points by manipulating metallic balls on a playfield inside a glass case. The primary objective of the game is to score as many points as possible. Secondary objectives are to maximise the time spent playing (by earning extra balls and keeping balls in play as long as possible) and to earn free games. Henry Starling kept a pinball machine in his office at Chronowerx in 1996. (VOY: "Future's End")

Iotian gangster Bela Oxmyx kept a few pinball machines in the storage room where Kirk, Spock , and McCoy were held captive, on Sigma Iotia II. (TOS: "A Piece of the Action")
