The Phyrox plague was a deadly disease that infected the population of Cor Caroli V in 2366.
The plague was finally eradicated on stardate 43714.1 with the assistance of the crew of the USS Enterprise-D. Following its eradication, Starfleet classified the Cor Caroli V plague as "secret."
Not long after this, the Enterprise's captain, Jean-Luc Picard was kidnapped and held along with three other individuals of other species, one of which was actually one of the kidnappers posing as a Bolian Starfleet cadet named Mitena Haro. Picard was surprised that Haro showed knowledge of the Enterprise's visit to Mintaka III, something that would normally not be known by a Starfleet cadet. He therefore tested her by mentioning Cor Caroli V and when she mentioned the Phyrox plague, secret knowledge she should not have been aware of, he pegged her as an imposter. (TNG: "Allegiance")
