James Kirk using photon grenades and mortar (2267).

Photon grenades are short-range, variable-yield explosive devices that generate a powerful electromagnetic pulse. These devices are capable of stunning humanoids in an enclosed area at lower settings. Photon grenades can also be launched with a mortar, to attack an enemy hiding in a defensive position and out of direct line-of-sight. (TOS: "Arena"; TNG: "Legacy")

While captured by the Krenim, Tom Paris commented that without its temporal shields, the hull of the Krenim temporal weapon ship was weak enough to be ruptured by a photon grenade. (Year of Hell, Part II (episode))

While trapped inside a subspace pocket in 2375 and awaiting rescue by the USS Voyager, Tuvok, Tom Paris, the Doctor, and Noss came under photon grenade attack by scavengers. (VOY: "Gravity")

In the 31st century, Vaskan agitators attacked the Museum of Kyrian Heritage with photon grenades, after a back-up copy of the Doctor gave accounts that the Vaskans were not the instigators of the Great War as the Kyrians had long since claimed. (VOY: "Living Witness")
