Petrarch (or Francesco Petrarca) was an Italian writer on Earth during the 14th century.
The Leonardo da Vinci hologram told Catarina in 2374, that when Petrarch had stood atop Mont Ventoux, he knew he witnessed the beginning of a new era: the Renaissance. (VOY: "Concerning Flight")
