Paul Ozzimo (born 9 November 1966; age 57) is a concept illustrator and graphic designer who worked under Scott Chambliss on Star Trek. He illustrated the prop phaser seen in this film. [1] He also worked as concept illustrator on Star Trek Beyond. [2]

This work earned him an ADG Excellence in Production Design Award nomination in the category Fantasy Film in 2010 which he shared with shared with Scott Chambliss, Dennis Bradford, Curt Beech, Luke Freeborn, Beat Frutiger, Gary Kosko, Aaron Haye, Keith P. Cunningham, Clint Schultz, Ryan Church, James Clyne, Joseph Hiura, John Eaves, Bruce G. Smith, Karen Manthey, C. Scott Baker, Dawn Brown, Kevin Cross, Andrea Dopaso, Jeff Frost, Scott Herbertson, Anne Porter, Billy Hunter, Harry E. Otto, Andrew Reeder, and Jane Wuu.

Also in 2010, Ozzimo won an ADG Excellence in Production Design Award in the category Fantasy Film for his work on the science fiction film Avatar which he shared with Robert Stromberg, Ryan Church, Todd Cherniawsky, James Clyne, Tex Kadonaga, Victor Martinez, Steven Messing, Andrew Reeder, Karl J. Martin, Richard F. Mays, Gregory Jein, Daphne Yap, Joseph Hiura, Tammy S. Lee, and Scott Herbertson.

In 2018, he won another ADG Excellence in Production Design Award in the category Contemporary Film for his work on the comic adaptation Logan (starring Patrick Stewart and featuring Rey Gallegos, Jeremy Fitzgerald, Chris Palermo, Panuvat Anthony Nanakornpanom, Tim Connolly, and Eddie Davenport and executive produced by Stan Lee) which he shared with Luke Freeborn.

Ozzimo has started his career as production assistant in the model shop of The Abyss (1989) and Solar Crisis (1990, working with Pat McClung, Michael Possert, Jr., and Andrew M. Siegel). He then worked as model maker on Back to the Future Part III (1990, starring Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson and Thomas F. Wilson), The Rocketeer (1991), Batman Returns (1992), Mom and Dad Save the World (1992, starring Terri Garr), Alien 3 (1992, with Jeffrey Kalmus, John Eaves, and Michael Possert, Jr.), Cliffhanger (1993), the video game Tomcat Alley (1994), Batman Forever (1995) Batman & Robin (1997), Turbulence (1997), Starship Troopers (1997), Air Force One (1997), The X-Files (1998, directed by Rob Bowman), Armageddon (1998), Mafia! (1998, with Joe Viskocil and Gary Young), Mission to Mars (2000), Spider-Man (2002, starring Kirsten Dunst), and Men in Black II (2002). As digital model maker, Ozzimo worked on Minority Report (2002), Battlestar Galactica, and Superman Returns (2006, directed by Bryan Singer).

Among his credits as concept illustrator or character designer are X2 (2003, directed by Bryan Singer and starring Patrick Stewart, Famke Janssen, Rebecca Romijn, and Bruce Davison), I, Robot (2004), Mission: Impossible III (2006), Transformers (2007) and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008), Watchmen (2009, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Matt Frewer, and Stephen McHattie), Alice in Wonderland (2010), Green Lantern (2011), The Avengers (2012, starring Chris Hemsworth), Men in Black 3 (2012), Ender's Game (2013), RoboCop (2014), Jurassic World (2015), Fantastic Four (2015), Terminator Genisys (2015), Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016), the horror comedy I Had a Bloody Good Time at House Harker (2016), Kong: Skull Island (2017), Power Rangers (2017), and Captain America: Civil War (2016), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), and Avengers: Infinity War (2018, starring Chris Hemsworth, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zoe Saldana, and Idris Elba).

Other work include The Predator (2018), Jumanji: The Next Level (2019, starring Dwayne Johnson), the Star Wars series The Mandalorian (2019), as Batmobile lead designer on The Batman (2021), and Avatar: The Way of Water (2021) and Avatar 3. (2023).
