Ensign Paul Gordon was a Starfleet engineer in the 24th century. In 2374 he participated in a secret mission on a captured Jem'Hadar attack ship to destroy a ketracel-white depot in Cardassian space. The ship suffered damage and subsequently crashed on a planet where the crew of another Jem'Hadar ship were also stranded. After Keevan, the Vorta, provided the Starfleet crew with information on the Jem'Hadar's attack plan to save himself, Gordon voiced reservation at what would effectively be the slaughter of the Jem'Hadar. Nevertheless, the attack went as planned and the Jem'Hadar were all killed. Gordon was the sole Starfleet casualty in the attack and was subsequently buried on the planet. (DS9: "Rocks and Shoals")

Gordon was played by Joseph Fuqua.
The unfilmed original ending of "Rocks and Shoals" saw Benjamin Sisko and the others standing before the graves they have dug, including Gordon's. A phaser rifle is placed at the head of the grave. (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Companion - A Series Guide and Script Library)
