Parrises squares is the name of a vigorous athletic game that was popular with teens during the 24th century, much to the concern of parents.
When playing parrises squares, players often wear unique padded uniforms, and use a piece of equipment called an ion mallet. The game also involves a ramp, and if one is not careful, they may fall off and cause injury. (TNG: "Future Imperfect")
The Starfleet Academy team faced the Minsk team in the parrises squares Championship Finals of 2327. It came as a big surprise when Starfleet Academy won, as the Minsk team was favored. Starfleet cadets threw a celebratory party that wreaked havoc on the academy grounds, that took Boothby three weeks to repair. (TNG: "The First Duty")
