Palazzo Venezia was a palace in Rome, Italy. In the 20th century, Prime Minister Mussolini would give speeches to his country from a balcony of this palace.

In Dangerous Ground, Doctor John Rawley narrated that seeing criminal lawyer Benny Fortenstein arising from behind his desk had nearly the same effect as seeing Mussolini at the Palazzo Venezia. (TNG: "The Big Goodbye")

The pages seen in the episode were from the mystery novel, Dangerous Groud, by author Frances Sil Wickware. This novel was published in 1946. Information on this building was from page 105.
