Outpost 47 was a Cardassian outpost located in the Almatha sector along the Demilitarized Zone that served as both defense and advanced warning. On Stardate 48467.3, it was under the command of Gul Toran of the Sixth Order.

In 2371, Outpost 47 was attacked and destroyed by the USS Defiant, which had been hijacked by Thomas Riker. (DS9: "Defiant")

According to the Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 46) and the Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), Outpost 47 was located in the Alpha Quadrant.
