The grenade stuck to the wall
An organic grenade or quill-grenade was a green, somewhat sticky biological globule which was fired from a Xindi grenade launcher. The globule very briefly pulsated before shooting out a barrage of projectiles, sharp quills which were green with yellow heads and which could painfully shoot down Humans.
The darts hitting an officer
In 2153, an organic grenade was deployed by a Xindi-Reptilian member of a boarding party that invaded Enterprise NX-01. The darts from the organic grenade shot down a group of Starfleet security officers who were guarding imprisoned Oran'taku native Rajiin in the ship's brig. (ENT: "Rajiin")
The term "organic grenade" comes from the final draft script of "Rajiin". The grenade was also called a "creature" in that teleplay. The term "sharp quills" comes from the same script. The teleplay specified that the darts caused their victims to lose consciousness, rather than describing the quills as lethal. In the final draft script of "The Shipment", the grenades were referred to as "'quill-grenades'", that script likening them to Seekers.
