The Nuvians are a race of humanoids with twelve fingers on each hand. There were over two hundred registered Nuvian masseuses on Risa in the 2150s. (ENT: "Fallen Hero")
Zjod had a Nuvian concubine for sale in his slave shop. (ENT: "Rajiin")
In the final draft script of "Rajiin", the appearance of a Nuvian was described as "particularly alien-looking".
Before the episode "Rajiin" established "Nuvians" to be a specific species, the reference to Nuvian masseuses on Risa in "Fallen Hero" was misinterpreted by the non-canon reference book Star Trek: Star Charts, which lists the city of "Nuvia" as the capital of Risa.
