The Newman Scoring Stage is a historical sound stage in Los Angeles owned and operated by 20th Century Fox. It was previously known as the 20th Century Fox Scoring Stage, prior to its reopening in 1997. 
Paramount Pictures's lease with The Record Plant finished towards the end of the second season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Paramount Stage M shut down for financial reasons. Recording for Next Generation episodes moved to the 20th Century Fox Scoring Stage for the next four years.
Outside of Star Trek, the music and scores for films such as The Horse Whisperer (1998), The X-Files (1998), Blade (1998), Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999), Galaxy Quest (1999), Planet of the Apes (2001), Ice Age (2002), The Matrix Reloaded (2003), Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), I, Robot (2004), Fantastic Four (2005), King King (2005), Live Free or Die Hard (2007), I Am Legend (2007), The X-Files: I Want to Believe (2008), Fast & Furious (2009), X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009), Avatar (2009), Predators (2010), Fast Five (2011), X-Men: First Class (2011), Super 8 (2011), Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011), Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011), Oblivion (2013), Man of Steel (2013), and X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) were also recorded and mixed at the Newman Scoring Stage.
