New Sydney

A mining facility on New Sydney (2375)

New Sydney was an independent planet in the Sappora system, influenced by the Orion Syndicate, and birthplace of Ezri Dax, neé Ezri Tigan. As of 2375, Yanas Tigan, Norvo Tigan and Janel Tigan still lived there.

The planet has its own police force, the New Sydney police bureau. Lieutenant Fuchida was one such police officer who worked for it.

Due to its vast mining usage, New Sydney is inhabited and visited by a large variety of species, including Farians, Humans, Trill, Ferengi and Nausicaans. (DS9: "Prodigal Daughter")

Obviously named after Sydney, one of the major cities of Australia and the largest city in the Oceania Region on Earth. Due to its nomenclature, Humans are likely to be the first species having colonized the system.
