A neural truncheon was a weapon typically used by the Breen to contain and control prisoners. On contact, it sent a surge of electricity throughout the body which paralyzed the recipient. Repeated contact may result in short-term damage to the brain, such as a concussion or temporary coma. (DS9: "'Til Death Do Us Part", "Strange Bedfellows")
