Nehru colony was a Federation colony near Deep Space 9.
In 2369, when a software lifeform known as "Pup" threatened the station, Jadzia Dax tried overloading the station's computers. While attempting this, she ordered the opening of subspace links to the Nehru colony and also the New France colony. (DS9: "The Forsaken")
Background
The colony was named after Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India from 1947 to 1964 who had previously been one of the principal leaders of the Indian independence movement in the 1930s and 1940s.
According to the Star Trek: Star Charts, on page 47 and United Federation of Planets I, Nehru was located in the Nehru system, in the Alpha Quadrant. This system was a binary star system. Primary was a Class A star. It had a magnitude of +3, which was 10 times brighter than Sol. Stellar companion was a Class A star, too. By 2378, this planet had become a member of the Federation.
Apocrypha
According to the novel Watching the Clock, the future Department of Temporal Investigations agent Dulmur lived on Nehru Colony with his then wife Megumi in 2364. Two of the colony's cities, Motilal City and Indira City, were named after Nehru's father Motilal Nehru and daughter Indira Gandhi respectively.
