Real World article
(written from a Production point of view)

Mittie Lawrence (born 1 September 1941; age 75) is an actress who appeared uncredited as a crewman in "The Corbomite Maneuver", the first regular episode of Star Trek: The Original Series. Her appearance has yet to be confirmed (it is possible that it was cut from the finished episode). She was originally considered for the role of Lieutenant Uhura before Nichelle Nichols was cast. (These Are the Voyages: TOS Season One)

Lawrence was the life partner of actor Robert DoQui. She made an appearance in the acclaimed 1968 film Funny Girl. Her other motion picture credits include The New Centurions with James B. Sikking and Night Call Nurses with Dick Miller.
