Mitchell S. Block worked as DGA Trainee on the Star Trek: The Next Generation fourth season episode "First Contact". Block also worked as extra camera assistant on the episode "Redemption" in 1991 and in the camera and electrical department on several episodes of the fifth season.

Beside his work on Star Trek, Block worked as second assistant camera operator on the comedy Just One of the Guys (1985), the science fiction film *batteries not included (1987, with Selwyn Eddy and Pat Sweeney), and the comedy The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988, with Leo Napolitano) and as first assistant camera operator on the documentary Madonna: Truth or Dare (1991), the comedy series Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane (1999), and the documentary The Cutting Edge: The Magic of Movie Editing (2004).
