(written from a Production point of view)
Mitchell Camera Corporation is a film equipment company, making cameras for motion picture and television usage. It was founded in 1919 and introduced their original camera, the Mitchell Standard, the following year. From the silent era until the late-1960s, when Panavision came to prominence, Mitchell was the standard industry camera in Hollywood. Most productions of the classic studio era and many television series utilized their equipment. All episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series were filmed using Mitchell cameras and Bausch & Lomb Baltar lenses.
