A Mishiama wristlock was a defensive posture used primarily in martial arts.
In 2364, Lieutenant Natasha Yar needed some practice in this move before a martial arts competition on the USS Enterprise-D and planned to develop it with Lieutenant Worf. Unfortunately, she was killed on Vagra II before the competition could be held. (TNG: "Skin of Evil")
