Mirab was an individual referenced in the Children of Tama language metaphorical phrases, "Mirab. His sails unfurled." These phrases were used as a metaphor for departure or retreat, a calm tone meaning the former and an urgent tone meaning the latter. (TNG: "Darmok"; LD: "Old Friends, New Planets")
