Michael Scott "Mike" Smithson is an Emmy Award-winning, Academy Award-nominated makeup artist who worked in the makeup department of Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, although he did not receive on-screen credit for his work on these shows. He also appeared as a Klingon helmsman in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, but received no screen credit for this, either. In 2009 he worked on J.J.
