Mike Hammer was a fictional portrayal of a 20th century private detective on Earth, created by novelist Mickey Spillane. Odo recommended the Mike Hammer detective novel, "Kiss Me Deadly," to Kira Nerys in 2375. (DS9: "Shadows and Symbols")

In the 1990s the character of Mike Hammer was briefly recreated for a series of comics from Tekno Comix, the same company which produced Leonard Nimoy's Primortals and Gene Roddenberry's Lost Universe.
