Tan Sri Dato' Seri Michelle Yeoh Choo-Kheng (born 6 August 1962; age 54) is a Chinese-Malaysian actress who has been cast in the forthcoming TV series Star Trek: Discovery. She will portray Philippa Georgiou, captain of the USS Shenzhou. [1] Her involvement in the show was revealed by consulting producer Nicholas Meyer in an interview on 22 November 2016. [2]

She is best known for her roles in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) costarring Teri Hatcher and Vincent Schiavelli and the Academy Award-winning martial arts classic Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000). Her more recent roles include the Netflix-produced sequel Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny and their series Marco Polo (both 2016). In 2017, she cameoed as Aleta Ogord in Marvel Comics' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, starring Chris Pratt and Zoë Saldana.

Her voice work includes the Soothsayer in 2011's Kung Fu Panda 2, also starring Fred Tatasciore.
