Michael L. Maguire (born 20 February 1955; age 69) is the actor who portrayed Benaren in the Star Trek: Voyager third season episode "Before and After".

Born in Newport News, Virginia, Maguire is best known for his stage performance as Enjolras in the Broadway version of Les Misérables for which he won several awards including a Tony Award in 1987, a Drama Desk Award, and a Theatre World Award and as Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm in the 1990 version of A Little Night Music. He graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a Masters Degree and started a stage career in 1985 after he worked as a broker for several years. Maguire was married to actress Marita Geraghty with whom he has two daughters.

Beside his successful theater career, Maguire appeared on-screen in the television series Police Story (1978, with Elinor Donahue and Leslie Parrish), Loving (1988), Quantum Leap (1992, starring Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell), Hearts Afire (1993), and Nowhere Man (1993, starring Bruce Greenwood). Film credits include Where the Day Takes You (1992, with Robert Knepper and Christian Slater), the comedy Busted (1997, with Samantha Mudd), and Go Fish (2000). His scenes in the 1999 drama The Deep End of the Ocean were cut from the final version.
