Crewman Mendez was an engineer aboard the USS Voyager under the command of Captain Kathryn Janeway. He was aboard Voyager when the starship was transported into the Delta Quadrant in 2371.
In 2375, Mendez was ordered by Chief Engineer B'Elanna Torres to locate the source of a power drain during maintenance of Voyager's. His investigation uncovered the presence of a microfracture within the ship's starboard warp nacelle. (VOY: "Night")
