CC-BY-SA Wikipedia licenseEdit

Wikipedia now uses the CC-BY-SA license, so you should be OK to copy its content as long as you provide attribution. Joey (talk) 08:25, November 23, 2009 (UTC)

Rather than do that we should still write our own stuff. I wouldn't copy wikipedia.. 1. Because we're not wikipedia. 2. Our content would be the same and that would make it pointless. 3. Because we're more knowledgeable about the content than the average wikipedia editor and thus would have to always re-verify the info copied in detail. — Morder (talk) 08:50, November 23, 2009 (UTC)
I would also point out that our NC license still precludes us using WP content, even with their adoption of BY-SA, because the terms of BY-SA prevent us from licensing under NC (NC is a more restrictive license). Regardless, we want original contributions, not lazy copy-pasting. -- Michael Warren | Talk 09:09, November 23, 2009 (UTC)
I agree- coping wikipedia stuff here is pointless and lazy.--31dot 13:34, November 23, 2009 (UTC)
Why would anyone want to do this? Wikipedia isn't the standard for information on Star Trek, or anything else for that matter. MA is far above Wikipedia when it comes to Star Trek related content, as we should be, and diluting that because someone is too lazy to reword an entry, at the very least, is not what this project is for. - Archduk3:talk 18:15, November 23, 2009 (UTC)
