Talk:Low-emissions modeEdit

Needs references to the episodes mentioned. Is this different than Gray mode?--31dot 01:47, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

I'm not sure the source of this terminology, it was not referenced in either episode cited. In fact, Rudolph Ransom is the only page that links to it, and the dialog from the episode makes no reference to him using said mode against the Klingons: "At Epsilon IV he ran into a Klingon Bird-of-Prey, played a game of cat and mouse for three days in a nebula before the Klingons finally gave up." Whereas the article states: "He waited three days on low-emissions mode until the Klingons gave up, and then continued the survey." Meaning that the "low-emissions mode" and "then continued the survey" is complete speculation. I might suggest this article for {{deletion}} if no one can come up with anything better. --Alan 02:04, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
There also appears to be another similar article: Reduced power mode. --Alan 02:06, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

I would support transferring this discussion to a deletion discussion page, if for no other reason than to maybe find out the reasoning for creating this article. If we can't find it, or it is not sufficient, then it should go.--31dot 21:50, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Agreed. It is already inaccurate in so much as it has the above mentioned Ransom reference added to it...--Alan 21:16, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Deletion rationale Edit

First of all please note the discussion above, but in short, the terminology does not appear to be accurate, the article itself is not accurate in at least one of its references (again, see talk page) and we already have an article on something very similar that uses accurate terminology: Gray mode. --Alan 21:19, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

Discussion Edit

  • Delete, per my already stated views and my agreement with Alan's.--31dot 21:25, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
  • Delete. Looks like someone may have misheard the words "three days in a nebula before" as "three days in low-emissions mode before"... either that or someone's making crap up. Either way, it go bye-bye. --From Andoria with Love 04:14, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Admin resolution Edit

  • Deleted amidst a lot of freezing rain. -- Sulfur 04:56, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
