This page is for the nomination and discussion of articles that may be potentially included in Memory Alpha's list of featured articles. A featured article is an especially well-written, informative, and comprehensive article that covers all available information on a subject. If you feel one of our articles meets this criteria, you may suggest it here in accordance with the nomination policy. For a list of articles previously nominated, see the archive.

To bring up a current featured article for review, please see the review procedure.

To nominate an article, start a new discussion under "Nominations without objections" with a heading named for the article you want to suggest. Provide an appropriate picture and a two- to three-paragraph summary of the article. This is usually the article's lead-in if possible, and should not contain any links, except to the article itself. This is what will be displayed on the main page and in the portals if the nomination is successful. Followed that by a brief reason why you feel the article should be featured.

Sample format:

=== <article> ===
[[File:<image>|thumb|<caption>]]
'''[[<article>]]''' <summary>
----
<reasoning> - <signature>

Once this is done, a notice that the article has been nominated as a featured article candidate should be added to the article in question by inserting {{fan}} at the top of the page, above any other templates except the article type template.

When you are commenting on a nomination, please take the time to read the entire article before you decide whether to Support or Oppose the nomination. Nominations with objections should be moved to the appropriate section until they are resolved.

When supporting or opposing an article, please use a bullet point (by adding a * before your comment) without any indent so these will be easy to find later. General comments should be indented as usual, and, as always, please sign your nominations and comments with "~~~~".

Yesteryear (episode)

"Yesteryear" - TAS 1x02

"Yesteryear" is the second episode of the Animated Series. After traveling through the Guardian of Forever to observe the dawn of Orion civilization, Spock finds himself in an alternate timeline where he died during his youth on Vulcan. He must travel back through the Guardian and try to prevent the events leading to his premature death.

I noticed that no animated series eps were nominated yet according to the page, and this one is particularly comprehensive. --LauraCC (talk) 18:20, September 23, 2015 (UTC)

  • Oppose the wording and picture of the blurb, for the record, just in case anyone though this was going to work as is. - Archduk3 05:25, October 13, 2015 (UTC)

Breakdowns - Reconfirmation after split...

File:SCE-Homefires.jpg

Home Fires - eBook 25

Home Fires/temp is the 25th eBook in the Star Trek: Starfleet Corps of Engineers series. It is the first story covering the aftermath of the catastrophic Galvan VI incident, where half of the ship's complement were killed. While the da Vinci undergoes repairs, the crew attempts to put their lives back together. The story follows Domenica Corsi's trip home to Fahleena III, accompanied by Fabian Stevens, and her relationship with her long-estranged father, the captain of a cargo company.

Age of Unreason - eBook 26

Age of Unreason/temp is the 26th eBook in the Star Trek: Starfleet Corps of Engineers series. It continues the reactions of the da Vinci crew following the aftermath of the catastrophic Galvan VI incident, where half of the ship's complement were killed. While the ship continues to be repaired, Carol Abramowitz, Bart Faulwell, and Soloman try to prevent a civil war on Vrinda. Carol is asked to host the ceremony that will begin a truce between the two warring powers, a ceremony involving an expression of honest, naked emotion, something she has never been particularly comfortable doing, especially after the events of Galvan VI.

Balance of Nature - eBook 27

Balance of Nature/temp is the 27th eBook in the Star Trek: Starfleet Corps of Engineers series. After the catastrophic events at Galvan VI, P8 "Pattie" Blue takes trip home while her world is confronting a crisis that threatens the Nasat's very existence.

Breakdowns

Breakdowns - eBook 28

Breakdowns (eBook)/temp is the 28th eBook in the Star Trek: Starfleet Corps of Engineers series, and the final book dealing with the crew's reactions to the aftermath of the catastrophic Galvan VI incident, where half of the da Vinci's complement were killed.

This final chapter focuses on Captain David Gold, as he contacts the families of the twenty-three members of his crew who died under his command to give his personal apologies, and Commander Sonya Gomez, who has to deal with the loss of Kieran Duffy, who had asked her to marry him before dying at Galvan VI.

This is another unusual one. The original FA, Breakdowns, is actually an omnibus, and the individual sub-entries should have each been on their own pages rather than all of their information being on the main page.

I've taken the steps to split the pages out appropriately as follows:

  • 1. Home Fires/temp
  • 2. Age of Unreason/temp
  • 3. Balance of Nature/temp
  • 4. Breakdowns (eBook)/temp

Until this reconfirmation is complete (one way or another), those articles will remain at the '/temp' locations. Once complete, they'll be moved over the redirects, and the Breakdowns article will be slimmed down to match up with the other omnibuses, such as: Breakdowns/temp. This slimmed article will no longer be considered an FA.

The last time this was done was with the Constitution class model (original) and Constitution class model (refit) article split, and this will follow generally the same reconfirmation criteria. This discussion will mostly work as a standard reconfirmation, but will cover all four sub-articles, so please remember to specify which one you are talking about (by number or name) if necessary. To address the undisputed & stable requirement in the criteria though, this will run for the full 14 days of inactivity to make sure this is fulfilled. The pages themselves though, both the original and split versions, haven't been edited greatly since the prior discussion occurred, so outside of the rearrangement, the content of these pages hasn't really changed all that much.

If this passes, the current FA blurb will be merged into the original version, as this is still a FA and that blurb is still in use. Also, please remember that minor edits that need a few days (or less) should only require a hold instead of a full objection.

  • Hold on first two (1+2) in order to add in some Memorable Quotes. Otherwise Support on all. -- sulfur (talk) 12:54, October 16, 2015 (UTC)
