A medic is an individual trained in medicine who administers medical aid where needed. Doctors and nurses are examples of medics.

Travis Mayweather's mother, Rianna, served as both medic and chief engineer of the ECS Horizon. (ENT: "Horizon")

Elizabeth Cutler served as a medic in-training during her time aboard the NX-01 Enterprise. It was in this capacity that she accompanied Dr. Phlox to the planet Valakis. (ENT: "Dear Doctor")

Tom Paris served as assistant medic for The Doctor during USS Voyager's trek through the Delta Quadrant. (VOY: "Caretaker", "Parallax", etc.)

In 2372, Ensign Carson attempted to summon a medic when Captain Benjamin Sisko was wounded in a battle with the Jem'Hadar aboard the USS Defiant. However, communications were down, so she had to retrieve the medic herself and bring him to the bridge. (DS9: "Starship Down")
