Matthew Faison (born 13 January 1944; age 73) is the actor who played Surmak Ren in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Babel".

Other television credits include Fantasy Island (starring Ricardo Montalban), Taxi (starring Christopher Lloyd), Magnum P.I., Family Ties, The Wonder Years, L.A. Law, NYPD Blue, Beverly Hills, 90210, and ER.

His film credits include Tough Guys (1986, with Hilary Shepard, Graham Jarvis, and Jeanne Mori), Bird (1988, with Bill Cobbs, Hamilton Camp, Tony Todd, and Tim Russ), Life Stinks (1991, with Michael Ensign, Brian Thompson, and Larry Cedar), Born Yesterday (1993, with Michael Ensign and Celeste Yarnall), Sliver (1994, with Jim Beaver), and Drawing Down the Moon (1997, with Walter Koenig).
