Prior to the release of [[Polar Lights]]'s highly acclaimed 1:350 [[Star Trek model kits|model kit]] of the original USS ''Enterprise'' in 2012, Master Replica's 2004 model of the ship was considered the most accurate available at the time for a general public. This was not a fluke, as the company had solicited input from, arguably, the most knowledgeable person on the [[Constitution class model (original)#Eleven-foot model|eleven-foot ''Enterprise'' studio model]] alive at the time, [[Gary Kerr]]. Kerr, who had by that time taken numerous measurements of the original model, was referred to Master Replicas by [[studio model]] maker [[Gregory Jein]], whom they had approached in the first place, and was subsequently employed by the company as a consultant. Not only Kerr contributed, but [[John Eaves]], [[Steve Horch]] and his companion {{dis|Michael Moore|propmaker}}, contributed in constructing a prototype model. Master Replicas was founded in 2003 and was best known for its production of high-quality limited edition 1:1 diecast replicas of Star Wars lightsabers and for producing scaled Star Wars spaceships. The company also released a number of licensed items from Disney, Spiderman and The Muppets franchises.

Shortly after losing its Star Wars licensing in 2006, the company merged with Corgi.

Background information
