Marva Hicks (5 May 195616 September 2022; age 66) was an actress and singer from Petersburg, Virginia. She played T'Pel, the wife of Tuvok in the Star Trek: Voyager second and seventh season episodes "Persistence of Vision" and "Body and Soul"; in the former as an illusion, and in the latter as a hologram.

Prior to Star Trek, she had several guest spots on Sister, Sister, Mad About You, and played Principal Jacara for the 1997-1998 season of One Life to Live, as well as acting in several major Broadway plays. Recently she has focused much more on her singing talents than acting, and was one of Michael Jackson's back-up singers in his last world tour. Previously, she backed up such famous performers as Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, and James Ingram.

Hicks passed away on 16 September 2022 in New York City, at the age of 66. [1]
