Marla Gilmore

Marla Gilmore

Marla Gilmore was the one of the crew members of the USS Equinox while the ship was stranded in the Delta Quadrant.

Gilmore was the acting chief engineer on the Equinox during 2375, as many of the crew had died during the voyage across the Quadrant. The USS Voyager, which was also lost in the Delta Quadrant, responded to a distress call from the Equinox and rescued it's crew, including Gilmore. She requested that Chakotay let her leave her duties on the Equinox in order to join a repair crew on Voyager, because she had too many bad memories from the Equinox. Her request was granted.

Later, Captain Rudolph Ransom and Maxwell Burke of the Equinox told some of their crew, including Gilmore, of the plan to steal Voyager's field generator and go home. Ransom reminded Gilmore and the others that Voyager had a full crew and weapons, she relunctantly agreed to assist. While carrying out these orders, Gilmore stunned Seven of Nine with a phaser and worked to bring the Equinox's illegally modified warp core online.

When Ransom realized the error of his ways and decided to surrender to Kathryn Janeway, Maxwell Burke ordered Gilmore to remove Ransom and take him to the brig, which she did at gunpoint. Instead of escorting him to the Brig, she took Ransom to engineering, informing him that she was on his side. Gilmore transported Seven of Nine and most of the Equinox crew to Voyager, and she also transfered the Doctor's program back to the Voyager sickbay with his ethical subroutines restored.

Afterwards, Gilmore transported to Voyager and Janeway reduced her and the four other remaining Equinox crew to active crewman rank. They were then told that they needed to earn her trust, and were placed under strict supervision. (VOY: "Equinox, Part I", "Equinox, Part II")

Marla Gilmore was played by Olivia Birkelund.
The fate of the character or her life on Voyager after the events of "Equinox, Part II" were never portrayed on-screen, however the non-canon Pocket VOY novel "Homecoming" by Christie Golden mentions that she returned to the Alpha Quadrant along with the rest of Voyager's crew.
