Mark S. Miller is a motion picture effects artist who, as a member of Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), operated the animatronic whales used in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. He spent 22 years at ILM, where he held the positions of Vice President and Senior Executive in Charge of Production and Marketing.

Some of his earlier tasks with ILM included working as the stage shooting coordinator on Ghostbusters II and working as ILM's project manager on The Hunt for Red October. He began his career as a visual effects producer for ILM Oliver Stone's 1991 film The Doors and went on to produce visual effects for such projects as the first and third Jurassic Park films (1993 and 2001), Contact (1997), Sleepy Hollow (1999), Planet of the Apes (2001), Minority Report (2002), and three of the Harry Potter films. He received a Saturn Award nomination from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films for his work on Sleepy Hollow.

Miller is currently the President of effects house Digital Domain, which provided special effects for Star Trek Nemesis.
