Mariano Nicieza (often credited as simply Mariano) is a comic book author. He began writing for Marvel Comics in 1993 working on various short stories in anthology titles. In 1995, he penned a story in the Malibu Comics DS9 "Ultimate Annual", paving the way for his work on five issues of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine line when it moved to Marvel in 1996. He is the brother of Fabian Nicieza, another comic book writer.
