Marcos XII was the inhabited twelfth planet in its star system. It contained a Federation settlement.
In 2268, Marcos XII had a population in the millions, with one million of them being children. It was the first planet which the evil angel-being Gorgan decided to conquer once he was set loose. Gorgan used the children of the Starnes Exploration Party to capture the Constitution-class starship USS Enterprise and was using the ship to go to there. Tommy Starnes had relatives on Marcos XII. (TOS: "And the Children Shall Lead")
In 2293, the location of Marcos XII in the Milky Way Galaxy was labeled in a star chart in Captain James T. Kirk's quarters aboard the USS Enterprise-A. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, okudagram)
In 2328, this was the destination for passengers traveling from Manark IV City via commercial transport. Christopher Tezber and Duke Willer traveled on the SS Kogin. (TNG-R: "Inheritance", okudagram)
