The Malurian system was a star system with four inhabited planets. It contained the Malurians, a warp-capable humanoid species. In the last census before its destruction, four billion people were counted in the system. (ENT: "Civilization"; TOS: "The Changeling")

Garos, a Malurian found operating on the Akaali homeworld in 2151, claimed to have come from the system in a survey mission. (ENT: "Civilization")

Prior to stardate 3541, the Federation had sent a science team, led by Doctor Manway, to the system. This team had a special transmitter for emergency situations.

In 2267, Dr. Manway sent a routine report. A week later, a distress call was sent from this system by the Malurians. The closest starship to this system, the USS Enterprise, responded to the call. It was determined, by the Enterprise, that the Malurian civilization as well as Dr. Manway's team had been destroyed by the probe Nomad, leaving the system lifeless. (TOS: "The Changeling")

In 2328, this system was home to the Malurian System Medical Station. (TNG-R: "Inheritance")

According to the Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 60) and the Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), the primary of the Malurian system was named Maluria (Epsilon Fornacis), and it was a G-class star.. It was located in the Beta Quadrant.
