The Mad Science Group, or Mad Science for short, is a franchise company that specializes in educational and entertaining programing for children, providing interactive science experiences which sparks their imagination and curiosity. Their Mad Science Productions division is currently collaborating with CBS Consumer Products to develop Star Trek Live, an interactive stage show set to open in 2010.

Mad Science began in 1986 when brothers Ariel and Ron Shlien started performing science-related activities at their local YMCA. They soon realized that the interactive nature of their presentations piqued children's curiosity, and their group grew to include after school programs and workshops. In 1990, the brothers registered the name "The Mad Science Group," and they have since collaborated with a number of companies to create science shows and other science-related presentations for children. To date, Mad Science has over 200 franchises in 29 countries. [1]
