Ludwig van Beethoven

Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) was a German composer of classical music in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Among his works was his Symphony Number Nine. In 2368 Data listened to the piece to analyze its aesthetics. (TNG: "A Matter of Time")

In 2367, Geordi La Forge was listening to the first movement of Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony (No. 6 in F major, Awakening of joyous feelings upon arrival in the country) while on his way to a conference on Risa, shortly before being captured by Romulans. (TNG: "The Mind's Eye")

In 2375 the computer offered Beethoven's Piano Sonata Number 8 (Pathetique) in response to Captain Picard's request for some music. (Star Trek: Insurrection)

After Jonathan Archer restored a damaged timeline, Ludwig van Beethoven playing the piano could be seen in the time stream as the timeline realigned itself. (ENT: "Storm Front, Part II")

In the first story outline of TOS: "Requiem for Methuselah", Beethoven had actually been Flint.
