Louis Race (born 19 March 1951; age 73), from Kalamazoo, Michigan, served as the first assistant director on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Race has been working as an assistant director since the early 1970s. His resumé includes other popular television series such as The Six Million Dollar Man, Knight Rider, The Wonder Years, NYPD Blue and Roswell.

His motion picture credits include The Prisoner of Zenda, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Russkies, Major League II, and Yesterday Was a Lie (starring Kipleigh Brown and Chase Masterson).
