Louis Hector Berlioz was a human composer in the 19th century, who wrote and conducted several opera's. He was best known for the Symphonie Fantastique and for his Requiem of 1837. Berlioz was born in France at La Côte St. André in 1803.

While patroling the Romulan Neutral Zone in the USS Enterprise E, during the Battle of Sector 001, captain Jean-Luc Picard listened to an opera by Berlioz. Commander Riker entered his office and mistook it for Bizet. ("Star Trek: First Contact")
