Lon Strickland is a filmmaker and composer who worked as a production assistant for the 2nd unit shooting on 2009's Star Trek. He had previously worked on the 2nd unit production for the film Eagle Eye, which, like Star Trek, was executive produced by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.

Strickland is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago in Illinois, which he attended from 2000 through 2004. His other credits as production assistant include the FOX Network television series Prison Break and Fast & Furious (2009). He is currently a filmmaker at the independent film production company Strickland Brothers. He also co-wrote, executive produced, edited, and scored the independent horror film The Tower for Grand Circus Productions.
