Template:Realworld Logan Z. Frazee was a special effects assistant on Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, Star Trek Generations, Star Trek: First Contact, and Star Trek: Insurrection. In this role, he made artificial effects used to create illusions in the films. These were effects produced on the set, as opposed to those created in post-production known as "visual effects."
In 1980 Frazee won an Academy Award for Technical Achievement. The Technical Achievement Award was awarded to him for the development of a device to control flight patterns of miniature airplanes during motion picture photography. This was not an award given for work on a Star Trek film.
Logan taught his son, Terry Frazee, special effects production beginning in the early 1960s. Terry Frazee went on to follow in his father's footsteps working on films including Star Trek titles.
